Biography: Zheng Qiusheng obtained his Diploma in biology/cell biology from Lanzhou University, China. He then conducted post-doctoral research at Beijing University, China. He was very interested in studying and understanding mechanisms that Cardio-cerebrovascular protection by Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), as well as the tumour growth inhibition induced by natural products. Since 2006, he served as director of the Key Laboratory of Xinjiang Endemic Phytomedicine Resources, Ministry of Chinese Education, which allowed him to set up his own team. In 2006, he was selected by the ministry of education in the new century excellent talents support program.
